majesty, garbage & glory

I love what the psalmist pens in the 113 chapter of Psalms. He zooms out to view big picture, who is like God? Nothing on earth nor in heaven can compare with Him! The culmination of kings, governments & world powers throughout history never have or will touch the fringe of His magnificence! The writer then zooms in. In the grander of God’s glory, HE brings Himself low to rescue the outcast from the ashes. He has several connections, a few friends owe Him a favor. In seconds, the orphan is seated at a table of royalty. I take that back, the orphan becomes royalty. Heaven rejoices and the barren sings!

“God is higher than anything and anyone, outshining everything you can see in the skies. Who can compare with God, our God, so majestically enthroned, Surveying his magnificent heavens and earth? He picks up the poor from out of the dirt, rescues the wretched who’ve been thrown out with the trash, Seats them among the honored guests, a place of honor among the brightest and best. He gives childless couples a family, gives them joy as the parents of children. Hallelujah!” (Psalm 113:4-9, The Message)

Verse of the Day(s)

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.”- 1 John 4:16
“Throw us in jail and we will still love you. Bomb our houses and threaten our children and we will still love you. Beat us and leave us half dead, and we will still love you. But be ye assured that we will wear you down by our capacity to suffer. One day we shall so appeal to your heart and conscience that we shall win you in the process, and our victory will be a double victory.” -Dr. King-
